1) Nov.23-- China's worst mining accident in almost two years killed at least 104 in a coalmine explosion in Heilongjiang province, raising concerns of a crackdown that may close mines and tight supply in the world's biggest producer. Four miners are still trapped underground, the offcial Xinhua News Agency said. A total of 528 were workuing when the blast occured at 2:30a.m. on Nov.21 at the Xinxing mine in northeastern China, the State Administration of Wortk Safety said on its Web site

2) U.S. President Barack Obama met Monday night with his national security team on Afghanistan and Pakistan the White House announced. It was the ninth meeting of the president's war council to consider whether to send more troops to Afghanistan, as requested by the U.S. commander on the ground there.

  1. (Writing about the first incident) It's sad since so many families lost someone close to them and lives are valuable and let's hope that mining someday will be less dangerous that it is now days. T_T
